Last week for the inhabitants of the Russian Federation was not the most pleasant. It all started on September 21, 2022, when the whole country was shocked by the news of the signing of the decree on partial mobilization of persons in the reserve. Somebody was packing their suitcases to leave the country and rushed to the border with Georgia or Kazakhstan, somebody had already received a summons to pack their belongings and give parting speeches to their families, and somebody else had not yet found an answer to the question: “What shall he do?”
Everyone gradually began to get used to the new conditions of their lives, when “Bloody Monday” struck – September 26, 2022. One by one, terrible news came in. First I heard about the shooting at School 88 in Izhevsk. To date, 17 people, 11 of them children, have been the victims of a suicidal killer. Then I heard about the shooting at the military registration and enlistment office in Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk region.
How was it
I immediately decided that the nerves of the civilian population of the Russian Federation were clearly at their limit and began to give mental breakdowns and failures. How else can one explain the fact that during the speech of Alexander Eliseev, military commissar of the draft board, a conscript ran up to his stand and shot him with an unauthorized handgun that belonged to him. After the shot, the suspect commanded: “Everybody out” and created a real panic in the commissariat, as all those present rushed to the exit in fright and scattered everywhere. By the way, the wounded commissar is in intensive care and his condition is described as extremely serious. At the moment doctors in Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk region are fighting for his life, since the patient is considered un-transportable.
The identity of the shooter
The recruitment center, from which the shooting was heard, was summoned as soon as possible by an out-of-departmental security unit, which spotted a man in a hunting suit. The man attempted to escape from the extra-departmental security guards, but they detained him and handed him over to the police for all necessary investigative actions. The person who shot the military commander was 25-year-old unemployed Ruslan Zinin. During the interrogation by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Zinin explained the reasons for his actions. Zinin testified that during the special operation in Ukraine he had already lost his best friend, who was only 19 years old, when he was killed. And after the summons was served on his cousin, who is now 21 years old, Zinin decided to act and thereby stop the endless series of deaths of Russian soldiers in Ukraine.
Criminal charges have been filed against Zinin for attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and for illegal arms trafficking.
The Silent Bottom Line
The shooter’s plans are unlikely to succeed because the mobilization of the country is only gaining momentum, and this incident will hardly mean anything to the country’s leadership at all – the guilty will be punished and the wounded will be helped. The perpetrators will be punished and the wounded will be helped. Everything is taking its course and, as we know from YouTube videos, the mobilized without proper training, even minimal firearms training, are gradually moving closer to the line of contact. And there is not much to hope for, because the announced mobilization bears little resemblance to the end of a military conflict.
