Many of these developments have had both positive and negative effects on society. One study examined teachers’ perceptions and their ability to incorporate technology into their professional practices. Teachers’ beliefs about the use of technology in the classroom were found to be closely related to their confidence and ability to implement technology in the classroom.

Throughout human history, technology has affected the environment in various ways. Today, new developments in telecommunications are creating new environmental effects. The telephone network, for instance, generates huge amounts of electricity over a long period of time. The resulting emissions from the phone network affect our environment and are a key contributor to climate change.
The rapid development of technology has also contributed to increased waste, deforestation, and pollution. This has led to the depletion of many natural resources due to the increased consumption of fossil fuels. Impact of technology on students’ motivation
While technology provides many benefits to education, it is not well understood if it can increase student motivation. To explore this possibility, we looked at the impact of technology integration in the classroom and explored three elements that influence student motivation: expectancy-value, self-efficacy, and self-worth.
Students’ motivation is directly related to how they perceive their own performance. Their perceptions of success and failure are shaped by the nature of the task. They try to avoid tasks that are boring and approach tasks that they believe are challenging. When they believe that they are capable of achieving a task, they are more motivated to complete it.
Researchers have found that the use of innovative technologies can boost self-efficacy in STEM fields. Using River City MUVE, for example, increased self-efficacy among students who were lower-self-efficacious. Similarly, Liu et al. studied middle school students’ science learning in a computer-enhanced PBL environment. They found that students who were low-self-efficacious had a higher self-efficacy after mastering their challenge.
